Mobile Dental Unit

Because Medicaid dental resources are extremely limited in Skagit County, the Mobile Dental Unit plays an important role in helping people who cannot afford dental care. Services on the mobile unit focus on treating emergent conditions, and are provided on a sliding-fee scale for people who are at or below 200% of the federal poverty level.

Volunteer dentists are the heroes of this dental program, for it could not exist without them.  Other partners who have worked with SCCAA since 1998 include the Skagit County Department of Health, United Way, and Medical Team International. Anacortes Noon Kiwanis Club and Kiwanis Club of Mount Vernon also contribute regularly to program operations. The Island Hospital Foundation was a founding supporter.

The state-of-the-art unit is stationed periodically in Anacortes, Mount Vernon, and Sedro-Woolley.
