Skagit County Community Action is able to keep our costs low thanks to the many individuals and groups who donate food, clothing, books, toys, vehicles, and apartment furnishings.

There are many ways you can help out with items and services.


Our Emergency Family Shelter needs:

To donate items to our Emergency Family Shelter, please call (360)416-7585.

alarm clocks
beds (full size or single, no stains or tears, please!)
furniture in good repair (couches, dressers, tables)
gardening equipment
hair cuts
household goods
lawn mowers
movie passes for families
phone cards
SKAT bus tickets

Our Maternity Support Services (MSS) program needs:

To donate items to our MSS Program, please e-mail Melissa Self or call (360)416-7585.

vouchers for car seats (not the actual car seats, due to lack of storage)
money for educational materials such as videos, pamphlets, booklets, etc.

Our Skagit Literacy Program needs:

3-ring binders and index dividers
"Astrobright" colored paper
card stock paper
cassette tapes and players
dry erase boards and markers
flip chart paper
invitation envelopes
learning games -- Scrabble, Bobble, etc. (good condition)
Mavis Beacon Typing Tutor software
pens and #2 pencils
Post-It notes
small gifts for student and tutor recognition (movie tickets, gift certificates, etc.)

Our Food Access program needs:

fresh fruits or vegetables
canned fruits or vegetables
soup, pasta, tomato sauce
cereal, dried fruits, nuts
rice, beans, flour, sugar, oil

“Ready to Eat” foods (granola bars, crackers, pop-top soups)
Special Diet Items (for Elderly and Disabled): Glucerna, Ensure etc.
personal hygiene items (toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, etc.)
